got to do with it?! And what are griots? Explore the fascinating roots
of hip-hop with Jessica Hangey of Le Dance Academie – then try it
yourself!

World Storytime (ages 3 to 6)
Our “mad scientist” will read Mouse
Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh, and create “Fireworks in a Glass!”
Listen to the wiggler “Five Little Paintbrushes.” Bring a smock or old
shirt, ‘cause we’ll be Dilly Dot painting!

It’s Craft Day!
Craft Stations will be open from 10:00 to
2:00 to accommodate our budding artists. We’ll be creating some
intricate projects, including painted flowers and sea creatures, so
relax and enjoy the fun! Bring a smock or old shirt!
July 7
10:00—11:00 Get The Beat Storytime (ages 3 to 6)
Design your own sticks and tap along with
Max in Brian Pinkney’s Max Finds Two Sticks. Get the beat with
rhythms from faraway lands, then wind down with the “Shhhh” wiggler!

10:00—11:00 Bill Pate’s “Drum Trail” (ages 3 to 12)
Get the beat at Bill Pate’s highly
interactive program “Drum Trail,” a journey through 15 billion years of
noise, rhythm and music! Sponsored by the law firm of Leventry,
Haschak & Rodkey.
July 14
10:00—11:00 Starstruck Storytime (ages 3 to 6)
Can you think of different kinds of
stars? Touch a real “star” at the end of How to Catch a Star by
Oliver Jeffers! Paint a night scene of magic stars (bring a smock or
old shirt), and take home a “Star Light, Star Bright” project.

Explore the exciting world of theatre
with interactive stage games and hands-on activities with Jayme Brooks
and Branden Miller, both theatre students at UPJ. Learn about makeup,
lighting, sound, and discover what really happens backstage!

10:00—11:00 Over The Top Hat Magic Storytime (ages 3 to 6)
Milo the Magnificent isn’t magnificent at
all in Milo’s Hat Trick by Jon Agee. Travel with Milo as he
searches the woods for a rabbit…maybe you’ll find a bag of “Magic Beans”
along the way! Try on different toppers in the wiggler “Hats,” then
decorate a magic top hat to wear.
